The Sacred Spectrum of Love: Discovering Your Relational Signature

This class will explore love, intimacy, attraction, and desire as sacred and diverse expressions of the Divine. The central idea of the class is that each person carries a unique relational signature—a distinct pattern through which they experience and express love that is as individual as a fingerprint. At the same time, the Universe is longing for connection and intimacy with us. The natural world, the cosmos, and the living earth are constantly offering forms of connection, presence, beauty, and communion. Part of discovering our relational signature will involve noticing how creation itself longs to be in relationship with us. We’ll draw on the teachings of Process Theology, Robin Wall Kimmerer, and Howard Thurman as we delve into these themes.

We will explore the possibility that relational diversity is not accidental but part of cosmic evolution. Each person’s way of loving contributes something unique to the unfolding of love in the universe. When we conform to narrow cultural scripts about relationships, intimacy, and attraction, we may unintentionally disconnect from our authentic relational nature. Yet many of us have been conditioned to see intimacy almost exclusively through the lens of human romantic or sexual relationships. This narrow understanding can cause us to overlook the many ways love is already reaching toward us through the living world.

This course invites participants to explore the unique ways love moves through their lives. Through the creation of a Relational Signature Map, participants will discover the patterns of attraction, intimacy, desire, belonging, connection, reciprocity, and expression that make up their unique way of being in relationship with life.

The course begins with a simple premise:

Every person carries a unique relational signature.
Every person is a unique expression of love.
As we grow in consciousness, our capacity for love evolves, and through that evolution the Divine continues its creative unfolding in the world.

The Relational Signature Map becomes a living record of that unfolding. Each week we’ll uncover another layer of our relational signatures to add to our maps.

If the Divine intentionally created your relational nature, what might it be trying to reveal through you?
How does love uniquely move through you?

Class Outline

Week 1 – The Infinite Spectrum of Love
Expanding our understanding of love, intimacy, attraction, and desire. Introduction to the idea that each person carries a unique relational signature.

Week 2 – The Evolution of Love
We’ll explore how our experiences of love have changed over time.

Week 3 – The Shape of Love Within Me
Exploring give and receive love and how it is unique for each of us.

Week 4 – Love as Sacred Reciprocity and Participation in Cosmic Evolution
Considering how honoring relational diversity contributes to personal authenticity, the evolving expression of love in the world, and how the Divine may be learning to love through us.

Note: To support participants on this journey, an optional 60 minute spiritual direction session will be available to each participant during the course of the class.
