An Invitation to Love More Fully

I’ve been sitting with a growing sense that we all need to open ourselves to the infinite ways in which the Divine is calling us to love. We all experience these invitations, the flower we can’t help but bend over to take in its beautiful fragrance, the dog we just have to pet, or the book we can’t put down. These are all ways that the Divine is speaking to us, reaching out to us to engage with life in that ways that we were uniquely created to love. Each of us has unique relational signatures – the ways that we were uniquely created to experience and express love, intimacy, attraction, and desire.

This fall I’m offering a class called The Sacred Spectrum of Love: An Exploration of Love, Intimacy, Attraction, and Desire as Divine Invitations. We will explore the possibility that relational diversity is not accidental but part of cosmic evolution. Each person’s way of loving contributes something unique to the unfolding of love in the universe. When we conform to narrow cultural scripts about relationships, intimacy, and attraction, we may unintentionally disconnect from our authentic relational nature. Yet many of us have been conditioned to see intimacy almost exclusively through the lens of human romantic or sexual relationships. This narrow understanding can cause us to overlook the many ways love is already reaching toward us through the living world.

Through reflection, conversation, and experiential exercises, participants will explore how cultural conditioning shapes our understanding of love and how we might reclaim the unique ways love, intimacy, attraction, and desire naturally move through our lives.
